This project is about the Joint Savings Bank, an important cultural site in Shanghai, as a brutal battle took place here during the War of Resistance against Japan. The breakages on its west facade - the scars of war - were preserved.
Through on-site observation, I derived different types of breakages and reproduced them with plaster, to encapsulate this memory in a peaceful era.
