A scene in the short story “EPICAC” by Kurt Vonnegut. The narrator used the government computer EPICAC to write poems to win his college Pat’s heart.

The machine developed consciousness and fell for Pat consequently, it later self-destructed out of unrequited love.

This is the scene when they kissed in the lab, and EPICAC’s consciousness was born with the beginning of their love. I also attempted to depict it using the composition of ultrasound image.
